LAST TOURING DAY ALREADY!!!!
AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!
As
sad as it was this was my last day touring Paris before
going home the next day, the thought that in a day I was
going to be leaving this great place and returning home
was a little depressing knowing that I had to leave Paris
behind.
We
had to check out of our hotel on this day because they
had already booked our room to someone else for that
night. We were originally going to leave Paris on this
day but our flight back to New York was canceled and
rescheduled for the next day, so when Rob made the hotel
reservations and prepaid them, that Saturday was our last
day and we couldnt extend it since they already had
it booked. We had to get all of our stuff together and
pack up, then took all of our bags out of the room and
check out at the front desk. We found another hotel a few
blocks over for a room for just one night, the hotel was
a Comfort Inn. We left our bags there and headed out for
our last day of touring.
We
decided to check out the Bastille monument, so we walked
down toward the part of the city where it was, we havent
really been down that part of the city since weve
been there so it was more new sites on the way. We were
passing some cool shops on the way and we also saw a sidewalk artist drawing this really big picture
with colored chalks there on the sidewalk, it was cool.
It
was about lunchtime and we were passing a Pizza Hut, so
we stopped in there to get a little bite. Hey, I know its
the same thing we have here at home but it was quicker
and easier to get and we didnt want to waste any
time on our last day, we were there to tour not to eat
fine foods. Anyway, I thought it was cool eating at a
Pizza Hut all the way over there, it tasted the same as
the Pizza Huts at home.
After
we ate we headed back out toward the Bastille, it took us
a little while before we actually got there, we stopped
at some of the shops on the way and looked around. By the
time we got there we were very thirsty from all the
walking and being hot since it was a hot day and all.
There was a café right there by the Bastille, we sat and
just got some cokes, Rob got a café latte.
The
Bastille was a French prison that was torn down during
the French revolution, the monument was constructed in
honor of it in the area where the prison used to be. It
was a cool feeling being able to be in the same area
knowing that all that had taken place there, I was
standing where a lot of history had taken place.
Later
we walked around a lot more enjoying Paris. We walked up
by the Cathedral Of Notre Dame and got a close look at
that, we didnt go inside it since Rob doesnt
really like things relating to Roman Catholic. I didnt
go inside because I didnt feel like going in by
myself and leaving Rob waiting for me and stuff, so I
didnt go inside. Oh, and the whole front was under
construction so they has the bottom half of the front of
the building covered by a tarp or something. I wish I did
go inside but I felt it would have been a hassle at the
time. Next time I go Ill have to go inside.
I
was almost out of film so I got more at a store near by,
when I walked into the store I saw this really cool shirt.
It had a cartoon character as a French stereotype, with
the beret and holding the French bread and stuff. I knew
right then and there I got to have the shirt, so I bought
it. I love the French stereotype, especially in cartoons.
Rob
and I wanted to get a drink out of the Seine River before
we left so we made it a point to get to the Seine River
and get a little drink. Thats what we did, and I
have it on camera to prove it. We did the same sort of
thing when we went to Geneva, we drank out of Lake Geneva.
If you went to the Geneva section, which I hope you have,
you would remember what I wrote about that. Rob and I
said we wanted to have some of Paris inside us forever.
Kind of silly, huh? Thats us.
After
our drink from the river we decided to head on over to
the Eiffel Tower again, we had planed to go up inside the
Eiffel Tower again one more time on the last day before
we left. I thought it would be a great way to say goodbye
to Paris on my last touring day, to get to see the whole
city and get a big glimpse of everything. Rob and decided
to walk along the river on the way there, it was cool. We
came to an area where we couldnt walk along the
river the rest of the way so we just took a different way
to get to the Eiffel. It was a nice walk though along the
river.
When
we got to the Eiffel Tower it was mid to late afternoon.
We got hotdogs, fries, Pepsi, and ice creams there under
the Eiffel Tower and hung out. In a little bit we got
inline to go up inside the Eiffel. By the time we got up
there it was early evening, we made sure we headed
straight up to the top before it got dark. When I got up
to the very top I shot eight snapshots looking straight
down the tower on all four sides and all four corners,
they look cool. We didnt spend that much time at
the top like the other two times, not too long later we
went back down to the second level and then the first. We
sat and ate some fries again with some Pepsi there and
just talked and enjoyed our time on the Eiffel. The hotdogs over there
were really good, for the bun they had the hotdog in French bread, it
was really good.
