Today we went to the Louvre and
saw the Mona Lisa, that was cool seeing it live. They
have a lot of cool paintings there at the Louvre, we didnt
get to see a lot of the other paintings there because we
mainly went there to check out the Mona Lisa. Later after
that we went back over to the Café Orbital to check E-mail, my message board,
and say hi to everyone back at home. After
the Café
Orbital we walked
around some more site seeing, stopped once and a while to
rest, eat, and drink. Later that day we went up in the
Eiffel Tower again for the second time, this time it was
in the late evening so we can see what it was like up
there at night. It was very nice and beautiful. The
nickname for Paris, City of Lights, meant more to me at
this point since everywhere we looked we saw beautiful
lights looking over the whole city. We spent a lot of
time on the second level because the lines lasted longer
to get up to the third. You see, there are four elevators
in the Eiffel Tower from the second level to the top and
two of them were down, so the lines lasted quite a while.
We must have been waiting inline for near an hour, but on
the Eiffel Tower it was worth it.
After
we got to the top we spent quite a while up there, I had
Rob take a video of me up there with the night view of
the city behind me while I talked to Rob and the video. I
took some time to show some of my cartoon characters I
had with me in my backpack, I always wanted to show my
cartoon characters up in the Eiffel Tower since my
characters are French people.
After
about an hour and a half or more we headed back down, to
the first level and spent the remainder of our Eiffel
Tower time that night there. After an hour and a half
more or so we came down and hung out at the park there by
the Eiffel Tower and had Habana cigars again, we were
thee past 2:00 in the morning when they turn off all the
lights in the tower before heading back to our hotel room.
Instead of walking all the way back since we were tired,
we took a taxi from the Eiffel Tower back to the hotel.
The driver was so nice, he was an older guy in is 50s it
looked like. In English with a French accent he had asked
us if we wanted to go to one of the late night dace clubs,
or something like that, they have around the city. Rob
said, No thanks, us Americans need our sleep.
He was very talkative and explaining what a lot of the
places were that we passed on the way back to our hotel
building, a very pleasant guy he was. See, not all French
people are rude! After we got out, paid and tipped him,
and got to our room, Rob said, I really liked that
guy.
