Thursday 8/19: Leaving NY - Flight to
Paris

Finally, August 19 came and I was all packed and ready to go. My parents picked up Rob
at his house and drove us both to JFK International
airport about an hour away, I was a little nervous since
I haven't flown in ten years and this was going to be my
longest flight. The last time I flew was, December 1989,
it was from New York to Orlando Florida and back four
days later. That's only a two and a half hour flight,
this one was going to be about 7 hours long. We got to
the airport at about 6:00 PM, our flight was scheduled
for take off at 9:00 PM, and we had to be there a few
hours earlier for security reasons and stuff. We boarded
the Tower Air 747 aircraft at about 9:00 PM and took off
about 10:09 PM, it felt great going down a runway again
and lifting off after ten years of not doing it, and also
since it was on the way to my long awaited place of
touring.
