> Well, pretty much everyone agrees that Clemens didn't mean to throw the bat at Piazza, even Piazza does... I think that Clemens saw Mike hit the ball, saw it go foul, and saw the bat coming at him, he was so fired up, and wanted to just keep pitching that he wanted to get the broken bat off the field as soon as he could, so he grabbed it, and kinda chucked it. My back-up for this is the fact that Roger had no reason for intent, and also the fact that after the matter he kept asking the Ump to give him another ball, he wanted to just keep going.

> Now Mike didn't know that it was a foul ball, so like anybody would, he started for first, Roger assumed that Mike knew it was foul, so he didn't even think about him.

Yes, thank you Alex. That is exactly what happened. My Dad said he thinks Clemens is an idiot for doing that, a Met fan go figure. I knew it wasn't intentional. You are right about Piazza, I saw him talking after the game and he didn't think it was intentional either. He was just confused, and I was thinking the same thing about the fowl ball thing. Mike said he was disoriented and didn't know where the ball was and just started running to first. Roger didn't know that he didn't know where the ball was and that Mike was going to start running to first when he threw the bat. I'm glad someone agrees with me. Roger said himself that he was just fired and stuff, I don't blame him, this is exciting stuff and an important game.
