Last night (Sunday) was the closing ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. I can't believe they are over already, after four years of waiting for these games they are over in only 16 days. I wish they were longer. I think they just seemed shorter for me because I only caught the last week of the Games, I spent the first week painting at my grandparent's new apartment after work.
The closing ceremony was awesome, as you can see from the picture above they had a great fireworks show ending it all. It was amazing. Well, just four more years and we'll be watching it again taking place in Athens, Grease. In just 16 months from now there will be the 2002 winter Olympic Games taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah here in our own country. I love the winter Games but the summer games are my favorite, I will still be excited to see to see the winter Games in just under two years.
Did anyone see any of the Olympics? Tell us what your favorite Olympic sport is. Mine include, Gymnastics (which I missed the first week), Track, Sprint racing, Relay racing, some of the swimming and diving, and the new sport Trampoline. I may have a few others that I forgot about, I didn't get to see as much this one as I wanted to.
Go to the Official Olympics site to see any other information you want on the 2000 Olympics. Sad it's all over already. Sydney is a really nice city, I would really love to visit it someday, it's beautiful, but I'm sure it doesn't top Paris. ;o)
Here's the link to the slideshow of the closing ceremony, and under this is the link to the Olympics site.
