> I heard about this on the news.. it's kinda sick, but that's what happens when people get a little overexcited, and don't watch out. What did your dad and Brooke think when this happened? Was the crowd freaking out?
> Btw, on a sicker note, did anybody hear about the bomb scare at Mather today? I'm sure you heard about it Shane, because you have to drive that way to work... but it was the big talk at work, tons of cop cars all over, and the bomb squad. All the people in the hospital had to be evacuated... that's scary.}}}}}
So that's what was going on at Mather? I pass Mather hospital every day on my way to work, nothing had happened there yet when I passed it yesterday (Friday) morning. About an hour or more after I got to work one of my coworkers, Kevin Canavan, got there and said there was cop cars all over and stuff, he didn't know what was going on. This clears that all up.
Anyway, at the ducks game it happened somewhere around home plate, and you know where we always sit when my Dad takes us. He uses those tickets from Mr. Smith, so those are the two seats that are between home plate and first base, right across from the pitcher. Remember that view of the game I took a picture of from my seat when I went 8/31 and I put it in my post? (Unfortunately they lost, but it was still a fun night) It's those same seats.
Brooke and my Dad didn't actually see him fall, they were actually watching the guy shooting the T-shirts. Then they noticed that everyone in the crowd was just standing and looking at one spot, no one was freaking out. My Dad told me he said, "I hope no one fell." He quickly found out that someone did fall. They brought in a police helicopter behind the stadium and brought the guy back there on a stretcher and air lifted him to the hospital. It was between innings so they didn't have to stop the game, they just delayed it a little bit.
Sick, huh? I wonder if they are going to stop shooting T-shirts into the crowd now.
