> I got to go to another Ducks game Saturday night, this time they won. My Dad got two tickets again on Friday afternoon and he asked my Mom if she wanted to go, but she didn't want to. My Dad decided to take Brooke, but she said she felt sick. That left me once again, so my Dad an I got to go to another Ducks game two days later. They won 6-3 to the Lehigh Valley Black Diamonds, great game. I guess this makes up for Thursday night. Some of you said maybe next time they'll win for us, and they did, I just didn't think it would be the next day. LOL!! It was an unexpected surprise for us to make another game two days later. This game wasn't televised.

HIT PARADE
> Total team effort leads Ducks over Diamonds 6-3

> (Central Islip, NY, September 2nd, 2000) Matt Guiliano’s three-run homerun began a five-run fourth inning in a 6-3 Long Island Ducks comeback win over the Lehigh Valley Black Diamonds on Saturday night. Every Ducks player in the lineup had exactly one hit except for Andre Keene, who had two.

> The Black Diamonds scored twice in the top of the first on Kim Batiste’s two-RBI single that scored Erick Corps and Adrean Acevedo. The Ducks cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second when Ed Lara’s RBI single drove home Lorenzo Bagley to make it a 2-1 game.

> The big inning for the Ducks came in the fourth. Bert Heffernan got things going with a one-out single to right field off Black Diamonds starter Bobby St. Pierre. Erskine Kelley followed with a single to right field, which brought Matt Guiliano to the plate. The Ducks’ shortstop took a 1-1 pitch from St. Pierre and blasted it over the left-field wall for his eighth homerun of the year, giving the Ducks a 4-2 lead. Later that inning, RBI singles by John Castellano and Francisco Morales gave the Ducks a 6-2 lead.

> Although Lehigh Valley would get one run back on Cirilo Cruz’s RBI double in the sixth inning, Long Island’s pitching would keep the Diamonds in check for most of the night. Robert Theodile (10-4) earned the victory for the Ducks by pitching six innings and giving up three runs on seven hits. He struck out seven batters, and became the first Ducks starter to reach the 10-win mark.

> The Ducks’ bullpen continued to perform in the clutch by surrendering only two hits in three scoreless innings of relief. Matt Wagner earned his league-leading 32nd save by shutting the door on the Diamonds in the ninth. Bobby St. Pierre (1-14) took the loss for Lehigh Valley in the ballpark where he earned his only victory of the year back on August 9th.

> The Ducks and Black Diamonds play the final game of their three-game series Sunday afternoon at 2:05. Limited tickets for this game are available, and can be purchased at the EAB Park box office.

> Duck Tales: Tonight’s Ducks’ win, combined with Bridgeport’s 10-3 loss to Newark, moves the Ducks 1½ games ahead of the Bluefish for first place in the North Division. The battle for a playoff spot between the Ducks and Bluefish will get real interesting down the stretch. Long Island has 21 games remaining in the season, and will play 4 of its final 8 games and 7 of its last 14 vs. Bridgeport…The Ducks have won 9 of their last 10 games at EAB Park. Overall, they have won 11 of their last 13 and 21 of their last 27 contests. Long Island has the best overall (full season) record in the entire Atlantic League at 72-47, now at 25 games over .500 for the first time this season…Every Ducks player had at least 1 hit, six different players each scored a run, and four Ducks had at least 1 RBI. Andre Keene was the only Duck with more than one hit – he went 2-for-4. Matt Guiliano hit his 8th homer of the season, a 3-run shot to left. He is now fifth on the team in homeruns…By earning the victory tonight, Ducks’ starter Robert Theodile became the team’s first 10-game winner. His 10 wins are tied for fourth best in the league. He is unbeaten in his last 14 starts (6-0), while the team is 13-1 over that span. He has not lost a game since June 19th. He has allowed just 6 earned runs total over his last 5 starts (1.67 ERA). His overall ERA of 4.26 leads all Ducks’ starting pitchers…The Ducks pair of “Trevors” out of the bullpen, Cobb and Schaffer, pitched 2 innings of shutout relief, allowing just 2 hits…Ducks closer Matt Wagner picked up his league-leading 32nd save of the season. He also has pitched in 53 games, second-most in the Atlantic League. Wagner has now retired 33 of the last 37 batters he has faced, and has allowed just 1 hit in his last 11 relief appearances…Tonight’s attendance of 6223 was the Ducks 51st sellout this season and 38th straight game with an SRO crowd. Each of the 61 home dates this season has drawn over 5000 fans. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday game so far this season has been a sellout. The Ducks continue to lead the Atlantic League in average attendance (6128), and their league-record total attendance now stands at 373,796 for the season.

so u were like a last resort for your dad.
