It was about 6:10 in the morning and the sun was just about to peek up for dawn in the East and the moon was a full moon in the West when the shuttle sped up into the sky. So when it was way up there the smoke from it was glistening with orange and violet colors from the sun on one side and illuminating a bright white from the moon on the other side. And of course the bright flames were clearly visible as it jettisoned up. It was quite spectacular and was very thrilling to watch. I'm sorry to say I didn't get it on videotape but i'll never forget it.

hey Kev, I was wondering, why do you use the nickname Smitty? Does it have anything to do with Michael W. Smith? Cos that's his nickname. Well I don't know if anyone knows that or not, but that's what my friend Chris calls him. They are REALLY close, so I dunno. Well just thought I'd ask. See ya!

Love,
Melissa
