[My Dad's mother's
memorial bio] [My Mom's mother's memorial
bio]
I love my family
greatly and couldn't possibly have asked for a better family then what
God has given me. We mean a lot to one another and are very close and
get along great. I'm the third born child among my brothers and
sisters, there is plenty of info here about the rest of my family so
please read on.
My oldest
brother is Rick, his actual name is Richard Jr.
named after my Dad. He's 33 years old and has a family. He's married with three kids, his
wife's name is Denise. Their oldest child is Lindsey, she's 8, and their second child is a boy.
His actual name is Richard
III, carried on
from Rick and my Dad, but they call him RJ, he's 5 years old.
Then their youngest is a baby girl, she was born on
Christmas Day 1996, and her name is Hope. They live in Florida, they moved down
there in 1992 :-( They used to live on Long Island. Rick
has his own business, he does brick and cement work and
puts up fences.
My second brother,
Scott, is 32 years old. He also has a family (Scott's
family homepage: check it out). They live here on Long Island, they
actually live in the same town as me. Scott is a Suffolk
County Cop here on Long Island, he went on the Police
force in 1995, I worked with him in construction for
almost a year before he went on. Scott is married to Amy,
they have four kids. They have all girls, their first is Ashley, and she's 8. Their second is Rachel, she's 6. Their third is Emily, she's 4. They had their kids around the
same time as my brother Rick, it almost seems like a
little competition there :o)
Then there is their last born child as of now, Daniel, he's 1.
After three girls they finally have a little boy, he was
born when I was vacationing in Paris in Aug. of 1999.
My sister Brooke is 14, she is also home
schooled. She takes lessons for horseback riding lessons, and also works
there at the stables. She plays with her nieces,
Ashley, Rachel, and Emily, when my brother's family and
ours get together. She also helps out with our newest
family member, Samantha. She helps my Mom take care of
her, feeds her, and holds her. Brooke is very good with
little kids, she really loves little kids and handles
them well.
This is Samantha
Nicole, also known as, Sam or
Sammy. She's our newest addition to our family, my
parents adopted her October of 1998. After 32 years of
raising children, my parents got to have another baby, in a matter of
speaking, now have a new cute little
one to raise up again. I made a page about here with
more pictures, take a look at the page I made about her. It's plain right now, I have to add more
to it and write more to the paragraphs there. I mainly
have it up for now to show the pictures I have of her.
(Her
site needs an update so it's not up to date right now. I'm
hoping to update it soon after I'm done with the major
stuff on my site.)
My Dad, Richard Jensen, used to be a Suffolk
County Police
officer here on Long Island, he went on the police force
in 1966. He's now retired from the police department and
has now been retired since 1986, he retired after 20
years of being in the police department. He was a
Homicide Detective when he retired, which is cool because
that's who some of the main characters are in Law and
Order, they remind me of what my Dad used to do. He
started out as a foot petrol man and then worked his way
up to patrolling in a marked police car. He was on the
narcotics squad for a while and an undercover cop,
sometime in the early 70s is when he went into the
Homicide squad and remained a homicide detective till he
retired. After he retired from the police department he
started a construction business with a friend from the
police department, he was involved in construction till
1992. My Dad worked on many cases, he was one of the first detectives
called to the scene of that Amityville house murder here on Long Island.
A few years ago, May of 1997, The Suffolk County Police headquarters
made him a Police chaplain. The Suffolk County Police has several
pastors and rabbis as Police Chaplains there, and my Dad is one of them.
He received his Police chaplain badge from the Suffolk County Police
Commissioner John Gallagher. There is photo proof of this below.

My Dad is
now a pastor of our church, we just started our own
church in 1996. He was our assistant and youth pastor and
leader of the church we used to go to before we started
our own. He went into pastor work in 1992, before that he
was one of the deacons (elders) of the church. We used to
go to Calvary Baptist Church in Port Jefferson Station
here on Long Island. The church we go to now is in
Farmingville here on Long Island, its called Hope
Reformed Baptist Church. If you are wondering what religion Reformed
Baptist is, you can find out all about it at reformed.org.
Right now our church is in a store front, we plan to have
our own building in the future but right now we don't
have the money to do that and we haven't found a place for it yet.
My Mom, Ginger Jensen, is a full time mother and works here
at home. She used to have some jobs in the past but gave
that up a few times though the years and gave it up
permanently a few years ago to become a full time mother.
She's busy home schooling my sister and now taking care
of a baby, Samantha. She used to be busy home schooling
me also when I was still doing school. Back in the
seventies before I was born when Rick and Scott were
little, she got a job as a nurse's aid. She worked
different jobs as a nurse's aid in hospitals and nursing
homes. Of coarse she gave up working for a while when I
was born. She worked in a doctor's office when I was
little for a while to do typing work and then quit after
a few years so she could home school me. After a few
years, later after my sister was born she started working
nights as a nurse's aid again in a nursing home. She left
that sometime later and worked in a hospital again as a
nurse's aid. When she left that job a year later or so
she decided to stay home and continue as a full time
mother.

My grandparents,
up till March of 2001 I had all four of my grandparents. On March 27,
2001 my grandmother from my Dad's side, Judith known to her grandchildren
and great grandchildren as Gammy, passed
on at age 88. She passed away from old age, she had been getting
weaker for the last month and was in the hospital for a month. She
lived a great life and of course we miss her. See
Gammy's memorial page we had printed at her memorial service,
it's bio all about her life with a few pictures, get to know a little
bit about her and who she was.
Two weeks
later my other grandmother from my Mom's side, Virginia DeOstiguy known to her
grandchildren as Nana (great grandchildren called her great nana), passed on at age
80. She had been in the hospital at the same time as my other
grandmother, Gammy, for heart sugary. After several weeks and
continuing complications she went into a coma, and then passed away a
week later. See
Nana's memorial page we used for her memorial service to get
to know about her life, she also lived a great life and is missed
greatly by everyone who knew her.
My grand parents from my Mom's side,
George & Virginia DeOstiguy known to their grandkids as Nana and Grandpa, lived in Centereach here on Long Island. My
grandfather can no longer live by himself, so my we're going to put on
an apartment on my house for him. We plan to have that done by summer
of 2001.
My grand
parents from my Dad's side, Judith & Stanley Jensen known to their
grandkids as Gammy and Gampy, used to live on Long Island but that was
before I was born. They moved away from Long Island and
moved upstate New York, they lived there till 1988 and then moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee. They moved down there
because a few of some other family members had moved down
there, too. They moved back up to Long Island again in September of
1999, most of
the other family members from down there moved around the
country and my grandparents were in need of some assistance so
we moved them close to us. We built an apartment onto my uncle Paul's
house for them in summer of 2000. Now that my grandfather is now alone
there, he still has his son and his family right there next to him in
the main part of the house to
keep him company.
We used to go down there to Tennessee
occasionally to visit. I have a lot of cousins and second
cousins from my Dad's side and they're all cool to hang
out with together. A few of them are around my age and my sister's
age. There are a lot of family members from my Dad's side,
we had a family reunion in 1998 and most
of us got together. Rick and his family were the only
ones who couldn't make it there. I've got a group photo
shot of all of us from the reunion, my cousin Bobby
mooned the camera over to the left. I blocked it out with
my Paint Shop Pro program so it's safe to look at it :o)
Unfortunately, I have never met any of my
great grandparents. They died before I was born, except
one. My Dad's father's mother, she was alive till I was 4
but I still never had the chance to meet her :o(
Rick and Scott had a chance to see her and some other
great grandparents since they were around a little longer
then me of coarse. Yeah, I still get that frustrating
feeling when I hear my family talking about them and how
great they were to visit during family gatherings. At
least I can still hear the great stories.
Well, that's about all I have to say about
my family for now. I'll continue to add to this page if I
need to make any corrections or if I find or remember
more information. Thank you for taking the time to read
about my family and me. Please visit the other pages on
my site and be sure to sign my guestbook :o)
